Our technologies

We use Air Through bonded, Carded Thermo Bonded and a variety of other technologies in order to create products that have specific and unique properties tailored for each specific application.

Shalag’s High-quality materials are the result of combining advanced technologies, a talented team of professionals, and a know-how acquired through decades of experience.

AIR THROUGH BONDED

Produced by opening, mixing and laying fibers onto a moving belt, then bonding them together using hot air.

Shalag’s  Air Through Bonded nonwovens properties include breathability, absorbency and softness,  making them ideal for applications such as hygiene products, medical supplies and filter media.

They’re designed with a variety of fibers such as: polyester, polypropylene, polyethylene, viscose, cotton and sustainable   raw materials; all in multiple color options.

CARDED THERMO BONDED

Produced by opening, mixing and laying fibers onto a moving belt and then bonded thanks to heated cylinders. The fibers are typically made from thermoplastic materials, which melt and fuse together when heated.  Shalag’s Thermo Bonded materials  have several key properties, including high strength and durability,  high resistance to tearing and abrasion, and a good dimensional stability.

They can be produced from a wide range of fiber mixing such as: polyester, polypropylene, polyethylene, viscose, cotton and sustainable raw materials; and available in multiple color options.

LAMINATION

With different laminations techniques, here at Shalag we’re able to offer advanced solutions by combining two or more layers of different materials, creating a variety of products that require a combination of different properties.

Our laminates can also be perforated and embossed with different patterns.

EMBOSSING & PERFORATION CAPABILITIES

With in-house embossing and perforation, we work to enhance the functionality and aesthetic appeal of our products. We can provide our customers with a variety of three-dimensional embossing designs, while maintaining the softness and comfort of the material, as well as its absorbency and liquid distribution properties.

Our diverse perforation patterns are designed to help improve nonwovens breathability and to enhance the product’s absorbency performance.

NEEDLE PUNCH

This process involves mechanically bonding fibers together by pushing them through a needles bed. The needles entangle the fibers and create a cohesive web suitable for a wide range of applications.
